These sweet watermelon earrings are designed with the dragonscale chainmaille weave using two sizes of rings. The bigger rings come in your choice of stainless steel or brass. Both options are paired with smaller anodized aluminum rings in ruby red, rose pink, and lime green.
On top of the stainless steel variation are silver-plated surgical steel ear wires. While the brass design variation hang on ear wires in an antiqued bronze color.
The total length for both variations of these watermelon earrings (including ear wires) is 1 7/8 inches. The dragonscale diamond itself is 1 inch long, while having a width of 5/8 of an inch.
Dragonscale Chainmaille Weave
The dragonscale chainmaille weave is essentially two European 4 in 1 weaves interwoven, and two ring sizes must be used to create this weave. For it to work properly, the smaller rings outer diameter must be at least slightly smaller than the larger rings inner diameter. An intriguing feature about this weave is the larger rings only go through the smaller rings, and vice versa.
